• Prospective Board Member Workshop

    On December 1, 2020, from 6:30 -7:30 p.m., District 45 is hosting a Special Board of Education Meeting which will include a Prospective Board Member Candidate Workshop. The workshop will include a brief review and understanding of:

    • The Election Process
    • Board Member Roles, Responsibilities, and Time Requirements
    • Code of Conduct
    • Board Meetings and Agendas
    • Board Relationships and Experiences
    • Collective Bargaining
    • Finances, Curriculum & Instruction, Human Resources
    • The Role of the Superintendent vs. The Role of the Board of Education

    Board Elections

    Four seats on the School District 45, DuPage County, Board of Education will be up for election at the April 6, 2021, consolidated election.

    Prospective Candidate Petition Packets for the April 6, 2021, consolidated election are now available on the DuPage County Election Commission website at http://www.dupageco.org/Election/37317/. (Listed under Candidates 2021 School Board Packet - Format 2)

    Some key dates for candidates:

    • First day to circulate petitions – September 22, 2020
    • First day to file nomination paperwork (with the Election Commission) – December 14, 2020
    • Last day to file nomination paperwork – December 21, 2020 (Election Commission office will be open until 5 p.m.)

    The qualifications for individuals who are interested in running for a position on the school board are:

    1.  Must be 18 years of age;
    2.  Must be a resident of the State of Illinois and the school district for at least one year prior to the election;
    3.  Must be a registered voter and not a school trustee or school treasurer

    Candidates are required to file their nomination paperwork with the office of the DuPage County Election Commission. The DuPage County Election Commission may be accessed at http://www.dupageco.org/election/
