Mrs. Eva Kilar

I am the general music and after school choir teacher at North School.  I am a singer and also love to play the piano.  I have been teaching general music for the past ten years and I have been teaching general music at North School since 2012.  Sharing my passion for music, education, and the fine arts with young people is my dream.  I am overjoyed to share my love of music with the students at North School.

I am a fan of all kinds of music, but my favorite genres include American folk, gospel, bluegrass, classical, world music, pop, and rock n' roll.  That's not an exhaustive list!  Like reading, the more you explore different kinds of music, the more wonderful music you come to enjoy.

I believe that everyone, from little babies on up, is capable of learning how to make beautiful music.  That being said, music is a both a fine art and an academic subject that takes practice to perfect and often utilizes skill sets from other core subjeccts, such as reading, math, science, and social studies.  My goal is to create a safe environment where students can explore their own unique gifts and talents, gain exposure to fine works of music, and succeed in reaching their own musical goals.
