Preparing Students to Successfully Navigate a Dynamic World
- District 45
Welcome Back to School
Dear D45 Parents and Families:
This week we are excited to welcome everyone back. I truly enjoyed celebrating the start of the school year with our students and staff yesterday. As we move through the 2019-2020 school year, I’m most excited to continue our work in preparing students to successfully navigate a dynamic world.
What does it mean for your child to successfully navigate a dynamic world? It means we are teaching our students to adapt to anything. We live in a world of constant change, and the jobs of tomorrow may be different from the jobs we know today. It is because of this we are working to ensure our curriculum and instructional strategies provide students with opportunities to solve real world problems.
In addition to our curriculum work, District 45 is continuing our exploration of refreshing classrooms and libraries, implementing full day kindergarten, and creating a special place for our preschool students. We’ll continue to share updates throughout the school year on these topics.
On behalf of the D45 Board of Education, administration, and staff, I would like to welcome you to a new and exciting year.
Best wishes for a successful school year,
Dr. Tony Palmisano
Superintendent of Schools
