Welcome Dr. Brian Graber

The School District 45 Board of Education voted during a regular meeting on April 15, 2019, to approve the appointment of Dr. Brian D. Graber to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for the 2019-20 school year. The appointment will be effective July 1, 2019.

Dr. Brian Graber is currently the principal at Highlands Elementary School, La Grange Highlands School District 106 in LaGrange. He has held that position since 2010. Prior to serving in District 106, Dr. Graber served as the principal at Kaneland John Stewart Elementary School, Kaneland Community Unit School District 302, Elburn. He was also the assistant principal at Bryan Middle School, Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205, Elmhurst. Before serving in Elmhurst, Dr. Graber taught 5th grade while holding the position of assistant principal at Forest Hills Elementary School, Western Springs District 101. During his career, Dr. Brian Graber has taught 6th grade Science as a Learning Strategies teacher, and he taught in a 3rd/4th grade classroom.

Dr. Graber’s professional development includes Rick Wormeli’s Standards-Based Assessment and Grading, John Hattie’s Visible Learning Institute, Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching, and he was a presenter at the Florida Educational Technology Conference. Also included in his professional development is Cross Cultural Education and Outreach in Ethiopia, Africa. Dr. Graber is a Magna Cum Laude graduate and a Kappa Delta PI. He is a member of the Illinois Principal Association (IPA) and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (NAESP).

Dr. Brian Graber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Taylor University, Upland, IN, and a Master of Arts School Leadership degree from Concordia University, River Forest. He received his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University, Macomb.
